Ford came up with a winner when they first introduced this ring on passenger cars in 1941, and used the same part until 1957. Trucks didn't begin using them until 1942, but also kept the same design through 1957. Because the design of 7" round sealed beam headlights was so standard, this ring can be used with original 6 volt bulbs, as well as later 12 volt versions. If you want to try to use modern LED or halo headlights just make sure they have the locator tabs in the sealed beam standard locations, and that they taper inward in the original fashion. We offer stainless steel and black retaining rings, as well as adjusting hardware in various other listings, so you can replace pretty much everything if you prefer.
