  These steering boxes with a 1" shaft are a great upgrade from the original!  They feature a quicker 16:1 ratio for a very responsive and precise steering system and improved needle bearing design for smoother operation. The direct bolt-in design requires no modifications to install.  They feature the exclusive solid shaft design just like the originals. The 16:1 ratio is the same ratio used on all high performance Mustangs (GT, "K" car, Shelby, Mach 1 and Boss models). Power Steering cars also had the 16:1 ratio. Most original steering boxes are worn out after 45+ years of service and are not rebuildable. These new boxes eliminate play in the steering wheel, hesitation and wandering. They improve high speed tracking and an overall sense of control. This is an excellent upgrade for regular production Falcons with the slower 20:1 ratio. We recommend a double-check of the original tags before ordering. These replace boxes with Tags HCC-AP. NOTE: Manual steering cars will require more effort when parking compared to stock 20:1 ratio
