This valve works for all engine sizes, 6-cylinder or V8.   NOTE: This control valve was used on many Ford and Mercury vehicles over many years. The original part was a quality piece of equipment, but it has several ways that it can fail. It is highly recommended that prior to the installation of your new valve, the steering system should be completely flushed to remove dirt, rust, moisture, metal shavings, worn fluid, and other contaminants. Failure to do so will result in early failure of a control valve. Also, consider replacing the steering ram, pump and hoses to start fresh with all new components to ensure system integrity and long service life.
