Proper bucket seat floor brackets are now available from Auto Metal Direct. This support bracket sits over the transmission hump creating a support / mounting point for the inboard side of the bucket seats. It is a duplicate of the original installed in bucket seat 1966-70 Fairlanes, 1967-71 Rancheros, 1966-69 Comets, 1968-71 Torinos & Montegos. If yours is rusty, or if you are converting from bench to bucket seats this is the best way to go.
