Base pad is included.For 1967 & 1968 the remote control mirrors for Mustangs were identical except for the shape of the inside remote control knob. These knobs screw in and can be changed from one mirror to another. This mirror will fit perfectly on a 1968 Mustang but it has the 1967 style tapered knob. To make it correct for a 1968, simply unscrew your original inside knob that has a ball on the top and use it with this mirror. We do sell a replacement style knob, our D6AZ-17B718-A
