Unfortunately Ford chose to make the quarter panel extension moldings out of anodized aluminum for '68 and '69 Fairlane and Torino fastbacks. These moldings dented easily, and it didn't take much exposure to the elements to make them cloudy. This means that even very well preserved cars need attention to these moldings. It is tedious and expensive to make a beat-up pair of them good enough for anything other than a basic driver. Luckily values and interest in these cars has soared recently making it feasable to produce a high-quality reproduction. They have all of the proper dimensions and shape, and attach with original style hardware.
